Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Rome, and Casa Navona honestly caught me off guard in the best way. The name “My Extra Home” sounds a bit cheesy until you actually walk through the door – then it makes perfect sense. It’s tucked on Via dei Banchi Nuovi, which is this narrow cobblestone street that most tourists rush past on their way to the Pantheon, but locals know it’s where you find the good stuff. The building itself has that weathered Roman elegance you can’t fake, and when you step inside, there’s this immediate sense of… I don’t know, like someone’s stylish aunt decided to open a boutique hotel. The lobby feels more like a living room, with these beautiful old details mixed with modern touches that actually work together instead of fighting each other.
What really gets me about this place is how they’ve nailed the location without making a big deal about it. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Piazza Navona – and I mean actually two minutes, not tourist-brochure two minutes – but you’re on a quieter street so you’re not dealing with the constant buzz of street performers and crowds. The rooms have this warm, residential feel that makes you want to kick off your shoes and plan your next day over wine instead of rushing out immediately. The beds are properly comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms feel renovated but not sterile. Honestly, the whole place strikes this balance between feeling authentically Roman and being genuinely comfortable for travelers who don’t want to rough it. The staff actually seems to care about what you’re doing in the city – they’ll tell you which gelato place on the corner is better (it’s the one on the left, by the way) and when to hit the Vatican to avoid the worst crowds.
Here’s what you should know: parking is basically impossible unless you’re okay with paying through the nose, but honestly, you won’t need a car anyway. The neighborhood gets busy during peak tourist season, but it’s the good kind of busy – lively without being overwhelming. I stayed there in October and the weather was perfect for wandering, plus the light hitting those old buildings in the late afternoon is something else. The 8.7 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Rome, but it delivers on what it promises. You’ll pay a fair price for a genuinely nice experience in one of the best parts of the city, and you’ll probably find yourself taking the long way home just to walk through the neighborhood one more time.

Reviews
Comfortable, Clean, Modern accommodation and perfect location – Onur from Turkey – 3 April 2025 (9/10)
Its place was at a point where Piazza Navona, Castel Angelo, Vatican could be easily reached on foot. The house was very clean. It had facilities that could comfortably accommodate 6-7 people. It makes a difference with its kitchen, dining table, large screen smart TV, electric fireplace with all kinds of equipment. If I went to Rome as a group, I would definitely like to stay in this house. In addition, My extra Home employees gave us all kinds of support, starting before they even got home. Special thanks to Silvia and Francesco.
You can’t find a better place that is in the center of everything. The hosts were excellent at communication. Would reco – Benjamin from United States – 9 March 2024 (8/10)
Location was amazing!
What could be improved: The bathroom toilet seat wasn’t working properly.Superb – Panagiotis from Brazil – 8 October 2023 (9/10)
The best location! Right at the center of the old town, but not crowded.
The apartment was big. It had everything we needed for a five days stay, and the veranda was the highlight for taking our breakfast or spending some time before going to sleep.
It is located on the second floor, but the stairs were fine for my mother, who has a problem with her knees.
The internet was great to work and make video calls.
It is true that the furniture and the equipment are not the newest, but we found that charming and everything worked fine and the beds were comfortable for us.Exceptional – Petr from Czech Republic – 3 August 2023 (10/10)
As advertised, it was a very nice apartment conveniently located in a historic building in the historical part of Rome. Everything went smoothly with "check-in" (meeting a representative at the apartment upon our arrival to Rome to collect the keys and to show us some of the features of the apartment).
What could be improved: Everything was great – nothing negative to report.Perfect for a central stay in Rome. – Aaronbauer from United States – 2 August 2023 (10/10)
The location was incredible, and the property managers were good to deal with. Their pickup from the airport and key handoff service was very efficient. The apartment itself is clean and spacious. The location was quiet, and the terrace was great.
What could be improved: The only coffee maker that worked on the induction stovetop was a 1-person moka pot. Worked well though.Exceptional – Amanda from Australia – 11 April 2023 (10/10)
Location was great, apartment has all facilities needed
fantastic location, comfortable apartment – Tessa from Australia – 12 February 2023 (8/10)
The location was fantastic, and the space was great for a family. It was a nice little apartment – cute, clean and comfortable
What could be improved: Nothing significant – the property owners were slow to respond via the customer service tab on booking, but pretty good on direct communication. Any negative about the apartment are very small – the shower heads are not amazing, and there’s no bowls in the kitchen. Nothing importantgreat space for our family of 4, and great central location for many sights and restaurants – Jez from United Kingdom – 1 August 2022 (9/10)
location, balcony, spacious
What could be improved: showersSpacious, clean, and excellent location. – Travellerv from Canada – 24 July 2022 (9/10)
Excellent location, clean, convenient, quiet, super cute little patio for morning coffee. Spacious..loved the “two” bathrooms.
What could be improved: Signing the contract made me nervous, it was long, and had an “extensive” list of items and cost replacement if damaged. There were some old stains on a couch and I was afraid we’d be accused. Also, if showering in the main bathroom, the small glass door always let out water onto the floor. hard to shower and water pressure not the greatest.hope to get back again! – Ganimete from Kosovo – 15 April 2024 (8/10)
Location perfect, as it is in the photo is inside the apartment.
What could be improved: I had a wrong phone number to call PROPERTY, because we had an early check in from 11-12, and the property call as after 12:30 to know where we were and in 15 min, they came, and everything was ok.
