Casa De Rose Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Casa De Rose? The moment you step inside, you completely forget you’re basically on top of Termini Station. I mean, Via Principe Amedeo isn’t exactly the most glamorous street in Rome – honestly, it’s got that slightly gritty central station vibe going on – but this place is like finding a hidden gem in plain sight.
The building itself is one of those classic Roman apartments that’s been converted into a boutique hotel, and they’ve done it right. Piano II means you’re on the second floor (which is actually the third floor if you’re American, but you probably know that already), and there’s something charming about the old-school Italian elevator that takes you up. The rooms have this warm, lived-in elegance that feels more like staying at a well-traveled friend’s place than a typical hotel. The rose theme isn’t overdone either – it’s subtle, woven into the decor without being too precious about it. What really impressed me was the attention to details that actually matter: proper blackout curtains (crucial when you’re dealing with Roman summer light), really good water pressure, and – this is key – excellent soundproofing. You’d think being so close to the station would be noisy, but I slept like a baby.
Here’s the thing about the location that most people don’t realize until they’re actually there: being a two-minute walk from Termini is incredibly liberating. Sure, the immediate neighborhood isn’t picture-postcard Rome, but you’re connected to everything. The airport train literally stops downstairs, the metro takes you anywhere in the city, and – this is something I only figured out on my second day – you can walk to the Colosseum in about fifteen minutes if you cut through the Esquilino area. Plus, there’s this fantastic little market on Via Carlo Alberto (just around the corner) where locals actually shop, and the Ethiopian restaurants on the same street are some of the best food I had in Rome, honestly. The staff at Casa De Rose seem to get that they’re not just running a hotel, they’re sort of unofficial Rome ambassadors. They’ll tell you which car of the metro to get on to be closest to the exit at your destination, or how to avoid the tourist traps near the Pantheon. That 9.7 rating makes total sense when you experience this level of care – it’s not just about thread counts and marble bathrooms (though those are nice too). It’s about understanding that travelers want to feel like they’ve discovered something special, not just booked a room.

Spacious and clean with all amenities you need. The host, Anna Maria, was very friendly, she provided drinks and snacks for when we arrived, helpful with tips on where to eat, she provided a map of Rome, and provided us with a parting gift. She also assisted me in obtaining a driver for the day we left. They were very kind and helpful.

The location of 'Casa De Rose' was absolutely excellent – it was just a 6-minute walk to Roma Termini Station, a very close walk to the shops and restaurants which was very convenient for us. It was also close to Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica & Santa Maria degli Angeli Basilica. The 3 bedrooms/bathrooms were very well equipped with all the amenities, extremely clean & immaculate, great quality towels, linen and bathroom products. The kitchen had all the gadgets possible including the dishwasher and this made it a fun experience for us. The laundry machine and clothes dryer was very useful too. The host Anna Maria was very gracious and generous and communicated with us at all times and answered all our queries. The description, photos and amenities listed on the internet are absolutely accurate and we would definitely recommend this place to our families and friends.
