Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of Roman hotels over the years, and Boutique Relais Barozzi & SPA gets something right that most places miss – it actually feels like you’re living in the city rather than just visiting it. The location on Arco della Pace is honestly perfect if you want to be in the thick of things without dealing with the tourist chaos of Via del Corso. You’re literally a two-minute walk from the Pantheon, but you know what? You can actually get some sleep at night because the street’s just quiet enough.
The building itself has that understated Roman elegance thing going on – not trying too hard to impress, but clearly someone put thought into the details. The spa was honestly a pleasant surprise; I mean, you don’t expect much from hotel spas usually, but this one’s actually worth using after you’ve been walking around cobblestones all day. The rooms are what I’d call thoughtfully designed rather than flashy – good lighting (thank god, because so many Roman hotels have terrible lighting), decent storage space, and the kind of bathroom where you don’t have to do gymnastics to take a shower. The 4-star rating feels about right; it’s not trying to be the St. Regis, but it’s definitely a step up from your average boutique place.
What really sold me on this place was the staff’s local knowledge – they pointed me toward this little wine bar on Via di Sant’Eustachio that I never would have found otherwise, and when I mentioned I was looking for good carbonara, they didn’t send me to some tourist trap near the Trevi Fountain. They actually know the neighborhood. The breakfast situation is solid too, though honestly, with Campo de’ Fiori just a short walk away, you’d be crazy not to grab coffee and cornetti from one of the bars there at least once. The 8.3 rating makes sense – it’s not perfect (the elevator’s a bit slow, and like most Roman hotels, the walls aren’t exactly soundproof), but it gets the important stuff right. If you’re the type who wants to feel like you’re staying in Rome rather than just sleeping in Rome, this place delivers on that front.

Reviews
We really enjoyed our stay and how easy it was to walk to all the landmarks. Great selection of restaurants around us. – Lama from United States – 19 June 2025 (9/10)
Charming place in a great location; quick access to several landmarks, shopping, and restaurants.
Great location – Lee from United Kingdom – 26 May 2025 (7/10)
Great location
What could be improved: Due to the great central location and mainly with our room (102) being on the ground floor, it was very noisy all night (from outside) so we didn’t sleep as well as we would have liked to.Very good – Margaret from Ireland – 2 May 2025 (8/10)
Our room was quite comfortable and clean . The small fridge and hot drink making facilities were so useful and convenient. The staff were so nice and helpful. The location was very central. It was also very quiet and we felt very safe and secure . Our host left snacks in our room for us to enjoy.
All hosts was so kind welcoming and so helpful at all times. The spa was very relaxing.
What could be improved: I don't have any negative feedback. Everything was perfect.Very good – Deborah from United States – 16 April 2025 (8/10)
Location and staff
What could be improved: Small room, no chest of drawersGood – Laura from United Kingdom – 10 March 2025 (7/10)
Spa was amazing although we only got to use it on one day due to our itinerary and booking system times. I would recommend booking your slots early!
What could be improved: Our room was very clean but extremely small.Nice hotel, great location, don’t bother with spa bath upgrade. – Susan from United Kingdom – 17 February 2025 (8/10)
Location was great.
What could be improved: Spa was good, but if you didn’t book in advance you wouldn’t get good timings. Spa bath rooms not worth the upgrade. It was okay. For the location I would recommend – Sevinc from United Kingdom – 25 January 2025 (7/10)
The room we were given was really small, bathroom especially was so tiny. Location and staff were good.
What could be improved: The room was super tiny.Gorgeous spa hotel – Sophie from United Kingdom – 23 December 2024 (9/10)
Staff super friendly. Bedroom was so clean and the hotel had such a gorgeous vibe.
What could be improved: Pool in the spa could be warmer!Amazing , friendly staff, great location – Vanessa from United Kingdom – 1 December 2024 (9/10)
The location was just perfect , off the main tourist track and loads of local authentic restaurants and shops
What could be improved: Our room was just off reception , so not that private would have been nice to have known how close it was before bookingA gem tucked in by Piazza Navona…truly magical… – Weronika from Poland – 13 November 2024 (8/10)
Absolutely incredible location. Great spot in the heart of Rome, yet tucked in in the quiet spot. Still close by one of the most beautiful squares – piazza Navona, near delicious spots for a morning coffee & cornetto or a lunch or dinner! Highly recommended!
Ps. The spa facilities are very cute ! After an active day, before dinner a session at sauna is very good option ! It adds to the overall experience!
GREAT FOR A ROMANTIC GATEWAY!
What could be improved: What we didn’t like is the smell of the damp in the room on the ground floor.
We understand that it’s closer to the ground and street, almost like in the basement- still with a cute window, so plenty of light !
But the smell was something that bothered me a bit – and maybe potentially could be done something about it.
