You know what struck me first about Bonsignore Luxury Accommodation? The name’s a bit of a mouthful, and honestly, when I was walking down Via Tomacelli looking for it, I almost missed the entrance entirely – it’s one of those understated Roman buildings that doesn’t scream “hotel” from the street. But that’s actually part of its charm. You’re literally a two-minute walk from the Mausoleum of Augustus (which, let’s be real, most tourists rush past on their way to the Spanish Steps), and the whole area has this quiet, lived-in feel that you don’t get when you’re staying right in the thick of things.

The rooms themselves are… well, they’re what you’d expect from a solid 4-star in this part of Rome, though I’ve got to say the attention to detail surprised me. The bathrooms are genuinely nice – none of that tiny European shower situation that leaves you wondering if you’re supposed to wash your hair in the sink. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, which is saying something when you’re this close to the Spanish Steps area. I mean, Via Tomacelli isn’t exactly a main thoroughfare, but Rome is Rome, and scooters have a way of finding every street at 2 AM. The staff actually knows the neighborhood too – not just the obvious tourist spots, but they pointed me toward this little osteria on Via del Leoncino that I never would have found otherwise.

Here’s the thing about the location that really matters: you can walk to Piazza del Popolo in about eight minutes, but you’re also close enough to cut through the side streets and avoid the crowds when you want to get to the Pantheon or Campo de’ Fiori. The 8.2 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind, but there’s something to be said for a place that just… works. Check-in was smooth, the WiFi actually functioned (not always a given in these older Roman buildings), and when I had an issue with the air conditioning on my second night, someone was up to fix it within twenty minutes. The breakfast is decent – nothing fancy, but they do proper espresso and the cornetti are clearly from a good local bakery. If you’re the type who needs a rooftop bar or a spa, this isn’t your spot, but if you want to feel like you’re staying in an actual Roman neighborhood rather than a tourist bubble, Bonsignore hits that sweet spot between comfort and authenticity.

  The accommodation is in a very good location. It was very comfortable with air conditioning in every room.
  I must say the hosts have been extremely responsive, for instance the electricity went off in the entire road for a few minutes and they could not have assisted any more and so quickly, even though this was late at night.
  My suitcase also broke on the way to Italy and there was no issue with me leaving this at the accommodation whereby other providers may have charged me for this
  
  What could be improved: The only thing I would say is that if you are a light sleeper the room at the front can be noisy due to being on a busy road.

  The apartment was so well located – right in the middle of things so it was very easy to walk to a lot of places.
  Each room had its own ensuite which was amazing. The kitchen was very well equipped. We left some airpods in one of the beds and the hosts had them sent out to us (it did take quite some time for them to send them, but they covered the cost to make up for it which was lovely). Overall it was the perfect place for our stay in Rome!

  Convenient location, just a 10-minute walk from attractions like Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. A few minute walk to various bus stations to travel to different places too.
  
  2-3 stairs and you’ll reach an elevator, which is a huge plus with travellers with luggages, though the elevator only accommodates 2 persons.
  
  The apartment is just as pictured, with 3 rooms, and a bathroom in each room, which is a cozy space for 6 travellers.
  
  There’s a supermarket just below the apartment, making it convenient to buy necessities and food.
  
  What could be improved: WiFi internet speed is too slow.
  And power would go out when you use just a few appliances at the same time.

  It’s very spacious, clean, nice rooms and well equipped bathrooms with hairdryers, shower gels, towels, slippers. All kitchen appliances and utensils you can need. The location is great – walking distance from the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and shopping street. Also a lot of cafes and restaurants near by, a good supermarket right next door. The host is very kind, polite and helpful.
  
  What could be improved: One of the beds on the first floor is broken unfortunately and the room with the windows to the street is quite noisy, you can hear almost everything happening outside even at night. The upstair bedroom is not really comfortable, the ceiling is too low even for a not too tall lady and the humming noise from the ACs outside is constant, also almost no outdoor light. But overall it’s not too bad – just needs small adjustments and it will be the best apartment!

  What could be improved: The door handle was broken. In 2 rooms the ceilings was very low . Check out was too early 10 am. The owner did not respond for the short extention. Sleep was interrupted by persistent beeping during the night from just accross the road.
