Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Rome, and Biffi 2 just gets it right in a way that honestly surprised me. It’s tucked into this little square in Garbatella – and if you don’t know Garbatella, you’re missing out on one of Rome’s most authentic neighborhoods. I mean, this isn’t the tourist Rome with selfie sticks and overpriced carbonara. This is where actual Romans live, where you’ll hear kids playing football in the courtyard and old men arguing about politics over their morning espresso.
The building itself has that solid, unpretentious Roman feel – none of that glossy hotel chain nonsense. When I walked into my room, the first thing I noticed was how quiet it was, which is saying something in Rome. You know what I love about this place? The details that someone actually thought about. The shower pressure is fantastic (and trust me, I’ve suffered through way too many European dribbles), the beds are properly firm, and there’s enough space to actually unpack without playing Tetris with your luggage. The rooms feel lived-in rather than sterile – comfortable furniture that doesn’t look like it came from a catalog, good lighting for reading, windows that actually open to let in that Roman air.
What really sold me on this place was the neighborhood vibe. You’re a ten-minute walk from the Garbatella metro station, which puts you in the heart of Rome in about fifteen minutes, but when you come back in the evening, you’re stepping into this residential bubble where the pace just… slows down. There’s this brilliant little trattoria called Da Valentino about three blocks away – ask the front desk, they’ll point you in the right direction – where I had some of the best cacio e pepe of my life. And honestly, the morning routine here is perfect: grab a cornetto and cappuccino from the bar on Via delle Sette Chiese (the one with the blue awning), then wander back through the tree-lined streets while the city’s still waking up.
The staff at Biffi 2 actually knows the area – not just the big tourist spots, but the good stuff. They’ll tell you which market days to hit, where to find decent wine that won’t cost you twenty euros a bottle, and which bus lines to avoid during rush hour. That 9.4 rating isn’t just numbers on a screen; it’s because they’ve figured out that travelers want to feel like they’re experiencing Rome, not just checking boxes on a monument list. The check-in was smooth, no drama, and when I mentioned I was interested in the street art scene, the guy behind the desk drew me a little map of the best murals in the neighborhood. I mean, when’s the last time that happened at a chain hotel?
Is it perfect? Well, if you’re looking for a rooftop pool and twenty-four-hour room service, this isn’t your place. But if you want to wake up in a real Roman neighborhood, with genuinely helpful people and a base that feels like home while you explore one of the world’s great cities – honestly, I can’t think of anywhere better positioned for that kind of trip.

We felt welcomed, we even got towels when we needed more. Even though we didn't try the free coffee machine it was a plus! I was surprised at how big the ceiling is, and how comfortable the bed is. I recommend staying in Rome for a week, because there is just so much to see!

We came here for mezza maratona di Roma, we booked two days at Biffi 2 and we had: the host – very friendly, the neighbours too :), the room – very clean, good proportion, warm light and very comfortable bed, a wonderful location, easy access, good connections (we were first time in Garbatella, this a place to live). We felt welcomed, next time we will stay longer, thank you, Enrico!

Merci encoreAlessio from Italy (10/10)
