Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about BeSecret Belsiana? The name actually makes sense once you’re there – it really does feel like Rome’s best-kept secret, tucked away on this quiet residential street that most tourists never find. I mean, Via Belsiana runs parallel to all the chaos of Via del Corso, but honestly, you’d never know you’re about two minutes from the Spanish Steps. The whole area feels like where actual Romans live, with those narrow cobblestone streets and the kind of neighborhood bars where old guys play cards in the afternoon.

The hotel itself is one of those converted palazzo situations that they do so well here – you walk through this understated entrance (no flashy signage, which I actually loved) and suddenly you’re in this elegant space that feels more like a sophisticated friend’s apartment than a typical hotel. The rooms have that perfect balance of old Rome character and modern comfort – think original ceiling details and marble bathrooms, but also really good air conditioning and Wi-Fi that actually works. What I really appreciated was how quiet everything was; even though you’re in the heart of the city, the thick walls and the fact that you’re off the main drag means you can actually sleep. The staff seemed to genuinely know the neighborhood too – they pointed me toward this incredible little enoteca on Via della Croce that I never would have found otherwise.

Here’s the thing though – and maybe this is why it maintains that 8.8 rating – it’s not trying to be everything to everyone. There’s no massive lobby scene or rooftop bar (though honestly, who needs another rooftop bar in Rome?). Instead, it’s sort of perfectly positioned for people who want to be in the thick of things but also want to retreat somewhere calm at the end of the day. You can walk to the Pantheon in about eight minutes, hit up the Spanish Steps whenever (though avoid them around sunset unless you enjoy crowds), and you’re close enough to Trastevere that you can stumble home after dinner without breaking the bank on taxis. The Spagna metro stop is right there too, which is clutch if you’re doing day trips. I stayed there in September and the whole experience just felt… right, you know? Like I was staying in Rome rather than just visiting it.

Reviews

  • good accommodation – Sarah from Italy – 31 May 2025 (8/10)

    no breakfast supplied

What could be improved: the restaurant preferences didn't live up to exception

  • Superb – Nikola from United Kingdom – 25 May 2025 (9/10)

    Location, Cleanliness

What could be improved: They should have like a safer space to store luggage after check out or before check in

  • A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Rome – Anonymous from United States – 28 May 2025 (10/10)

BeSecret Belsiana is simply exceptional. Located just steps from Piazza di Spagna, it offers the perfect Roman experience. The staff is incredibly warm and welcoming (Neloo was amazing!), making you feel at home from the very first moment. But what truly stands out are the rooms (brand new), spacious, filled with natural light, and impeccably clean. An absolute gem for anyone looking for comfort and style in the best part of the city.

  • War alles super. – Max from Austria – 24 June 2025 (9/10)

Es war alles in Ordnung, haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Sehr neu und sehr modern und schön eingerichtet. Die Lage ist Top. Wenn ich wieder mal nach Rom reise, dann werde ich wieder dort übernachten.

  • Viaje en familia – Carlos from Spain – 12 June 2025 (10/10)

    La ubicación es excelente

What could be improved: La entrada al portal y la escalera deberían mejorarse

Staff gentilissimo e disponibile, struttura nuova e ottimamente arredata, pulizia perfetta

  • Superb – Clacly from Italy – 1 May 2025 (9/10)

    posizione, pulizia, disponibilità dello staff

What could be improved: unica pecca negativa manca l'ascensore e la stanza è situata al secondo piano…

  • Excelente! – Ana from Portugal – 13 June 2025 (10/10)

A localização é excelente. Óptima para aceder a pé aos principais pontos turísticos e passear pela cidade. Muito perto do metro de Spagna, muitas lojas na zona, muitos restaurantes na zona. No entanto a rua consegue ser calma e nada barulhenta para dormir. Quarto e wc excelente, com comodidades conforme descrito. Tudo muito bom. Funcionários muito prestativos e simpáticos. Comunicação muito eficiente. Voltava a repetir este alojamento!

  • Passable – Ofri from Israel – 4 June 2025 (5/10)

    What could be improved: נקיון!!!!!

  • Good – Zissi from Greece – 27 May 2025 (7/10)

What could be improved: L’unica cosa negativa, sono le scale del palazzo e l’assenza del ascensore.
