Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be straight with you about Belstay Roma Aurelia – it’s one of those places that gets Rome right without trying too hard. When I first pulled up on Via Aurelia, I was honestly a bit skeptical because you’re about 8 kilometers out from the historic center, but you know what? That turned out to be exactly what made it work.
The thing about staying out in Aurelio is that you’re in actual Rome, not tourist Rome. I mean, sure, you’re not stumbling out your door onto the Spanish Steps, but you’re also not paying Spanish Steps prices for a decent espresso. The hotel itself has this understated elegance – clean lines, comfortable beds that actually let you sleep, and staff who seem genuinely happy to help rather than just going through the motions. The rooms are what I’d call thoughtfully designed; there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling like you’re camping in a closet, and the bathrooms are modern without being sterile. Actually, the whole place strikes that balance between contemporary and warm that a lot of four-star places struggle with.
What really sold me, though, was how easy it made exploring the city. The Metro connection is straightforward once you figure it out (and the front desk folks are great at explaining the routes), but honestly, I found myself walking around the neighborhood more than I expected. There’s this fantastic little pizzeria about ten minutes away that I never would have found if I’d stayed in the centro storico, and the morning routine of grabbing coffee from the bar down the street felt more authentic than any hotel breakfast buffet. The parking situation is refreshingly stress-free too – if you’re driving in Italy, you’ll appreciate not having to navigate narrow medieval streets just to get to your hotel. I stayed there in late spring, and the pace felt just right; busy enough that the neighborhood had energy, but not so crowded that you’re fighting for sidewalk space. The only minor thing I’d mention is that some rooms face the street, and Via Aurelia does get some traffic noise, but it’s nothing earplugs can’t handle, and it dies down pretty well at night. For the price point and the genuine Roman experience you get, it’s honestly hard to beat.

The Hotel is located 7 km from the center of Roma and about 20 km from FCO airport, a very fast drive to FCO.
The room is big, well designed with a modern look, the Hotel also has a good modern look.
The shower room is big and was good.
The restaurant is well…. Not recommended.
We were hungry when we arrived afternoon and since the hotel is not located near restaurants, we set to eat in the hotel restaurant, well… it was a big mistake, the beef was dry, hard even after we asked for a medium, it came well done.
The carbonara was poor.
The breakfast is ok, not more.
Ohh, it has a great free parking space right in front of the entrance! Very important if you have a car!!!
Overall it is a good hotel and the price was reasonable.

The breakfast buffet has tons of options, and the hotel staff are nice and friendly. Plus, they offer a free shuttle service to the subway station, which is awesome!
