You know what caught me off guard about Bell Appartamento? I was expecting another cramped Roman hotel room, but these are actually proper apartment-style spaces that feel like someone’s well-appointed home rather than a sterile hotel box. The building sits right on Via Ferruccio – and honestly, if you’re not familiar with this particular stretch, it’s one of those streets that locals use as a shortcut between Termini and the university area. You’re literally a three-minute walk from the central station, which sounds chaotic but is actually brilliant once you realize how easy it makes everything.

The apartments themselves have this lived-in quality that I really appreciated – proper kitchenettes with real coffee makers (not those sad pod machines), decent-sized windows that actually open, and furniture that doesn’t look like it came from a hotel catalog. I stayed in one of the corner units and could hear the morning bustle from the street below, but it wasn’t the kind of noise that keeps you awake. More like the gentle hum of a neighborhood waking up. The staff genuinely seems to care about the place – I mean, they remembered my name after the first day and offered solid restaurant recommendations that weren’t just tourist traps. Actually, they steered me toward this little osteria on Via Gioberti that I never would have found otherwise.

What I really loved was how the location puts you in this sweet spot between tourist Rome and actual Rome. You’ve got the convenience of being steps from Termini – which, let’s be honest, is essential when you’re dragging luggage around cobblestone streets – but you’re also in a neighborhood where you’ll see locals doing their grocery shopping and kids heading to school. The San Lorenzo area is just a short walk away, and that’s where you’ll find the kind of evening scene that Romans actually enjoy. The 7.9 rating feels about right to me – it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury touches, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I was planning to explore beyond the main tourist circuit or needed easy access to other cities by train.

  Great for a big group – everyone got beds, no one had to sleep on a sofa (which is common for bigger places). Comfy, spacious, big rooms. Kitchen with a big table for everyone. Very nice owners. Easy to get in and out of the house for everyone separately.
  
  What could be improved: The radiators didn’t work so it was quite difficult to dry the towels/clothes after we got caught in the rain.

  The apartment was very spacious and modern. It had all basic needs. The manager was easily accessible and responsive. The apartment was well located with restaurants, stores and transportation within 10 minutes walk. I would definitely stay there again.
  
  What could be improved: The front door of the apartment could use an upgrade because the door knob was a bit loose. One of the door in the rooms didn't close. The apartment has no air conditioner, so summers will be very hot. If you don't mind the heat, the you'll be ok.

  Very spacious apartment with a very well equipped kitchen. Lots of coffee and tea for guests – no need to buy it yourself. Really comfy beds. Clean and quiet.
  
  What could be improved: Gas oven for heating water is not great – it can't keep a steady temperature which forces You to jump out of the shower regularly in order to avoid heat burns. No wine glasses available

  The lift might be small but could carry a heavy load that totally amuses us. The rooms are spacious. The host is gracious. The place is near restaurants, groceries and metro. Everything was great!
