Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about B&B Roma Royal Residence? It’s tucked away on Via Genova in this brilliant little pocket of Rione Monti that most tourists completely miss. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from Termini Station, but somehow you’ve landed in one of Rome’s most authentic neighborhoods where locals still hang laundry from medieval windows and that morning espresso ritual is sacred.
The place itself sits on the first floor of this classic Roman building – scala B, so you’ll actually climb some stairs (fair warning if you’re hauling heavy bags). But honestly, once you’re up there, it feels like you’ve discovered someone’s stylish Roman apartment that just happens to welcome guests. The owner clearly gets that travelers want more than just a bed – there’s this genuine attention to making the space feel lived-in rather than hotel-sterile. The rooms have that perfect balance of old Roman charm with modern touches that actually work, and the beds are honestly better than what you’ll find in most four-star places around the city center.
What I love about staying here is how it drops you right into real Roman life. Step outside and you’re surrounded by little trattorias where you won’t find a single tourist menu, plus there’s this incredible morning market energy that hits the streets early. The Colosseum crowd hasn’t discovered this strip yet, so you get to experience that authentic Rome feeling – you know, where you might actually hear more Italian than English on the street. Parking is typical Rome chaos (meaning forget about it), but the metro connections are so good you won’t miss having a car. I actually found myself walking everywhere because the neighborhood just draws you in – narrow cobblestone streets that lead to hidden piazzas, the kind of local wine bars where regulars nod at you after your second visit. The noise level is what you’d expect from a real Roman neighborhood – some street sounds, the occasional scooter, but nothing that kept me awake. And honestly, there’s something charming about falling asleep to the distant hum of Roman life happening below your window. The 8.1 rating makes perfect sense to me – it’s not trying to be the Hassler or some generic luxury chain, but it delivers exactly what it promises with a genuine warmth that’s getting harder to find in Rome these days.

Great place to stat near a lot of sightseeing places – Garcia from United States – 1 July 2025 (9/10)
The location was great, very clean and good breakfast
What could be improved: Check out time should be at least 11amHighly recommended! – Oakleaf from United States – 1 July 2025 (9/10)
Great communication before arriving provided necessary entry details. AC worked excellent. Breakfast was wonderful. Ample table space. The shower was fantastic. Super location close to bus stop. Blackout curtains worked well. Very secure. Elevator was small but very helpful. Friendly staff. Loved the large towels. Extra sink in the mini-kitchen was very nice to have.
What could be improved: Extra firm beds with one pillow. Fortunately, we brought thin backpacking air mattresses too improve our sleep.Walk distance to places – Raj from United Kingdom – 28 June 2025 (7/10)
Locations great
What could be improved: It was very basicA great find in the heart of the city with the best beds! – Joanne from United Kingdom – 26 June 2025 (8/10)
The bed was so comfortable and the staff communicated before during and after was fantastic. They always answered straight away.
It was very near everything in a good area of the city with excellent transport options.
We were celebrating our delayed honeymoon and arrived to wine, petals and a message 😀
What could be improved: The breakfast was not so good with the cheese and meat already dried up. To be fair we only had breakfast one morning so maybe we had a bad one (8am) Also the lift didn’t stop at floor one which was a bit disappointing as I am disabled.Superb – Amy from United States – 30 May 2025 (9/10)
It has an amazing location right next to both a great restaurant and delicious bakery and a few minutes walk to the Trevi fountain or to the metro. The staff was very kind. They helped with directions to all the sites and also kept my luggage for me for a few hours after checking out.
What could be improved: I couldn’t figure out how to get the safe in my room to workIt was a good place to stay and I would return – Wright from United States – 26 May 2025 (9/10)
Very friendly staff. Location was great!
What could be improved: No elevator to our room so we had to carry luggage up the stairs.Superb – Kay from United States – 23 May 2025 (9/10)
Everything! From the time of locating the property to checking out, service and comfort was exceptional
Good value central stay with great breakfast – Helen from United Kingdom – 8 May 2025 (8/10)
Location was good , breakfast was great , staff friendly , comfortable bed
What could be improved: The noise ( it wasn’t rowdy or noisy at all ) but from our room you could hear everything going on in the dining area and corridor from about 7.30am – check-in time was later than a lot of places 4pm with option for earlier but at a cost . There was a step down into the room from door and to/from toilet which was a bit hazardous during the night in the darkPerfect – Marianne from Canada – 3 May 2025 (9/10)
Room was clean and beds were comfy. The breakfast had variety and we did not lack of anything even if we ate towards the end, staff would refill when things got empty.
What could be improved: Maybe i was the one who did not understand properly but the only thing i would suggest is maybe indicate more clearly where to go when in the building. I called staff and had an answer quickly.Superb – Garcia from United States – 19 April 2025 (9/10)
