Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about BB Il Re Alla Reginella? It’s tucked away on this narrow cobblestone street that feels like a secret — Via della Reginella is one of those addresses that even Romans sometimes have to think about for a second. But honestly, that’s exactly what makes it special. You’re literally a three-minute walk from the Pantheon (I timed it), yet when you step inside, there’s this immediate sense of calm that you just don’t get at the big chain places right on the main drags. The building itself has that authentic Roman character — thick walls that actually keep the summer heat out, and you can tell someone put real thought into preserving the original architectural details while making it work for modern travelers.
The rooms are what I’d call thoughtfully designed rather than flashy. Nothing feels forced or overdone, but everything you actually need is there and works properly — which, let’s be honest, isn’t always a given in Rome’s historic center. The beds are genuinely comfortable (not just hotel-marketing comfortable), and the bathrooms have decent water pressure, something you learn to appreciate after a few Roman vacations. What really impressed me was how quiet it stays at night. You’d think being in the heart of everything would mean constant noise, but Via della Reginella doesn’t get the late-night foot traffic that, say, Via del Corso does. The staff actually knows the neighborhood — they’ll send you to the little café around the corner on Via dei Cappuccini for morning coffee instead of the tourist trap places, and they understand that sometimes you need directions that account for the fact that half the streets around here don’t have proper signs.
Here’s the thing about staying in this part of Rome — you’re walking distance from pretty much everything that matters (the Pantheon, obviously, but also Piazza Navona, the Jewish Quarter, even the Spanish Steps if you don’t mind a pleasant stroll), but you’re also positioned to stumble onto those random discoveries that make a trip memorable. I mean, there’s this tiny wine bar on Via dei Giubbonari that I never would have found if I hadn’t been wandering back from dinner one night. The area gets busy during the day, sure, but it settles into this lovely residential rhythm in the evenings. And honestly, with a 9.4 rating, you know previous guests have figured out what makes this place work — it’s not trying to be something it’s not, just doing the fundamentals really well in a location that locals would actually choose to live in.

Wonderful location. Just outside the MAIN tourist area but only a quick walk to the Pantheon and other attractions. Highly recommend the Rick Steves Audiotour of the Jewish Ghetto too (which starts very nearby). Many have mentioned it already but the balcony is truly wonderful, makes the trek up the stairs well worth it. Loved having breakfast food freely available for early (or late) risers. Gianni a supremely welcoming host on our arrival too.

Location and the view: 10/10! Terrace is absolutely amazing, drinking coffee in the morning or wine in the evening was the great experience itself:) The host was very nice and helpful. It was very convenient that we could check in very early, and check out late, thank you! Everything was close by, we visited all the attractions by walking only. Great restaurants nearby.
The kitchen and coffee maker were very convenient. Breakfast is = whatever you find in the fridge (toast /sandwich, juices, yoghurts). Everything was great.Julie from United Kingdom (9/10)
Gorgeous spacious family room with minor deduction for family bathroom to lower floor. Adequate self serve breakfast and unlimited snacks available a bonus with hungry kids. Fabulous location in the heart of the Jewish ghetto.

The location was excellent! Quiet, and homey, I loved that this was where Giannis Grandfather used to live! The view from the balcony was breathtaking. Our room was quaint and comfortable and breakfast was excellent, we did not expect eggs, ham along with the yogurt and lovely Italian juices!
Alisa from Ukraine (10/10)
A wonderful room with a separate terrace with a view of the monuments of Rome. Very convenient location, exceptional service. For breakfast there were products, juice, coffee, there are a shop and various cafes nearby
