Arenula Suites Overview
You know what struck me first about Arenula Suites? It’s tucked into this narrow street that feels completely separate from the tourist chaos, even though you’re literally a five-minute walk from the Pantheon. Via Arenula isn’t one of those picture-perfect cobblestone streets you see on Instagram – it’s more like a working Roman neighborhood where locals actually live and shop, which honestly makes it feel more authentic.
The building itself has that understated elegance that Romans do so well – no flashy lobby or marble everywhere, just clean lines and thoughtful details. The suites (and they really are suites, not just rooms with a sitting area) feel surprisingly spacious for Rome, where most hotels squeeze you into spaces the size of a closet. I mean, you can actually open your suitcase without having to put it on the bed first. The kitchenettes aren’t just for show either – there’s a proper supermarket called Carrefour Express just around the corner on Via dei Cappuccini, and picking up some fresh bread and prosciutto for breakfast beats paying hotel prices every time. The staff seems to get this too; they’re not pushy about the breakfast service and actually give you solid recommendations for the neighborhood spots.
What really sets this place apart is how it sits in the city. You’re in Navona, which sounds touristy, but you’re on the quieter residential edge of it. Walk five minutes toward the river and you hit Trastevere – but not the packed restaurant strip, the part where Romans actually hang out. Walk the other way and you’re at Campo de’ Fiori, but again, you can slip back to Via Arenula when the crowds get overwhelming. The 64 bus stops practically at your doorstep, which locals know is the lifeline that connects you to Termini and the Vatican without dealing with the metro transfers. And here’s something the guidebooks won’t tell you – there’s decent parking on the street early in the morning, though you’ll want to move your car before the evening rush when Romans come home from work. The whole area gets this lovely quiet feeling around 2 PM when shops close for siesta, perfect for an afternoon nap or just sitting with a coffee. That 8.6 rating makes sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Rome, but it nails all the things that actually matter when you’re spending a week somewhere instead of just passing through.

Reviews of Arenula Suites
Perfect entry to rediscover Rome – Laura from Australia – 30 June 2025 (9/10)
Location was great having not visited Rome for 30 years. Just out of the main area so quiet but close to amenities and the sites. The entrance took my breath away, and we loved the elevator. Room was lovely and my husband said the bed was more comfortable than the one at home.

The location is perfect for exploring the city on foot, and is between lots of the main landmarks of Rome and the beautiful Tiber River. There are many great restaurants within a short walk, and a cute cafe right next door for breakfast or a quick bite. The beds were comfortable and the suites are in a very nice and safe building. Check-in was easy and convenient. We enjoyed our stay!

The ancient palazzo in which the suites are located is wonderful. The location is one of the best in Roma.
What could be improved: All good.Superb – Karina from New Zealand – 18 March 2025 (9/10)
Good location, nice and spacious room. Only minor negatives were the shower which needs a better drain or a water blocker to stop the water going onto the floor. Staff are great but after a long day of travel it was a little complicated working out how to get in and out of the property. Not a dealbreaker at all, just a suggestion that staff could meet guests by the front door. Otherwise a really great stay and good value for money.
Exceptional – Kevin from Italy – 19 January 2025 (10/10)
great furnishings, really comfy bed, location is perfect for getting around Rome helpful staff, this the second time i have stayed here and will stay again
Fantastic, comfortable hotel with great location. – Janie from Australia – 13 January 2025 (8/10)
The location was excellent. We could walk to every major monument/ attraction within half an hour. Directions to the hotel and how to access the hotel even after reception hours was easy and efficient. Housekeeping, was good.
What could be improved: We struggled to work out the aircon but very minor.
