Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Antica Dimora Navona? It’s tucked away on this narrow cobblestone street that most tourists would walk right past – Via dei Leutari sounds fancy, but honestly, it’s just a quiet little lane that connects to the main Navona area without all the chaos. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from the Pantheon, but somehow this spot feels like a secret that only locals know about.
The building itself has that authentic Roman character you can’t fake – thick stone walls that actually keep the summer heat out (trust me, this matters in August), and these gorgeous old wooden shutters that block out the morning light if you’re trying to sleep off some jet lag. The rooms are what I’d call “elegantly cozy” – not huge by American standards, but thoughtfully designed with these beautiful antique touches mixed with modern comfort. The beds are actually good, which isn’t always a given in historic Italian hotels, and the bathrooms are surprisingly spacious for a place this old. What really impressed me was how quiet it stays at night, even though you’re right in the heart of everything – those thick walls I mentioned really do their job.
Here’s the thing about the location that the booking sites don’t tell you: yes, you’re walking distance to all the major sights, but more importantly, you’re positioned perfectly for the rhythm of Roman life. There’s this little coffee bar around the corner – Bar del Fico – where you can grab a proper espresso and cornetto in the morning like the locals do. The evening passeggiata (that’s the Italian evening stroll) flows right past your doorstep, so you can people-watch from the entrance if you want. And honestly, being just off the main tourist drag means you can duck back to your room during the crazy midday crowds, then head out again when things calm down around 6 PM. The staff seems to actually live in Rome – not just work there – so they’ll point you toward the good gelato place (it’s not the one with the long tourist line) and tell you which restaurants are worth the wait. With a 9.7 rating, I was expecting it to be good, but what surprised me was how personal the service felt. It’s the kind of place where they remember you’re vegetarian or that you mentioned wanting to find a good bookstore, then casually drop suggestions the next day.

From where to start?? I am speechless !! I changed my booking in Rome in the last minute to Antica Dimora Navona because of the great reviews I read about the owners Max and his wife!! Believe me if I say all reviews cant describe the great hospitality of Max who supported us from day one and even before we arrived until now. Let me start by saying that we were looking for apartment that has everything we need and make us feel living like locals in the middle of everything. There are many apartment that is antique and charming in Rome but usually they have issues with the bathrooms, water pressure, heaters, AC, etc.
This apartment is amazing!! You will feel like if you were born in Rome. It is antique yet its bathrooms, AC and heaters are very modern and we had no issue at all. The apartment has everything towels, shampoo, hand and dish soaps, garbage bags, dish washer, microwave, … etc. it is fully equipped!! Max even left some electric plugs in one of the drawers and some books too! The windows had double glass and the old charming wooden shutters can assure you darkness for your sleeping. The apartment is 3 minutes from Piazza Novona and there are many restaurants, cafes, pharmacy and mini markets just around the corner. Sadly, our 1 year old baby got really sick at our last night before traveling to Florence. I texted Max who is always there via whatsaap and he offered me a help that a brother will not do. It was 10 PM when I texted him and he said:
– if you need a doctor, I can bring you one in the morning.
– if you need medicines, dont worry I can get you any medicine now for your baby.
– if the case got more serious, go to Bambino hospital and he sent me the location and asked me to call him anytime even in the early morning.
Sadly, my son got very ill and I took him to the great hospital Max recommended, they admitted my baby to the ER immediately and within an hour he was admitted to the ICU unit.Penny from Australia (10/10)
I loved everything about this apartment. Brilliant location- close to great dining out and only 25-30min walk to key attractions eg colosseum. Apartment had everything we needed and our hosts were delightful. Greeted us on arrival with cool drink and snacks and showed us how everything works. Very appreciative

We loved absolutely EVERYTHING!! Max and Tina were such wonderful hosts. The extra touches they took care to provide made our stay so comfortable and memorable. Excellent communicators as well. The place is like being in a museum with contemporary bathrooms. This has been by far the best flat we have ever rented in Europe. Do yourself a favor and book this space…SO happy we did!!

Max and Tina were fantastic, attention to detail was beyond great, tea, snacks, cookies waiting for us upon arrival, recommended places to eat, and arranged for a very comfortable car service to airport.
The place itself was a perfect location very antique feeling, with artwork and furniture. Very clean, comfortable, great air conditioning. Lots of room. A perfect place
We will be back!!Bria from Canada (10/10)

The apartment was beautiful, clean, and well equipped. The hosts were there to greet us, help with luggage, and welcome us with wine, snacks, and cereal and granola to start our mornings off if we wished.
Located in a vibrant neighborhood, everything you could want is just a few steps away, and many of the big sites were within easy walking distance.
I would highly recommend this apartment.
