Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Alessandria Suites Roma? The quiet. I mean, you’re still in Rome – there’s no escaping the distant hum of Vespas and the occasional animated conversation drifting up from the street – but Via Alessandria sits in this surprisingly peaceful pocket of the Salario district that most tourists never discover. It’s one of those tree-lined residential streets where actual Romans live, complete with the morning ritual of elderly signoras walking their impossibly small dogs and the neighborhood bar where locals grab their espresso standing up.
The hotel itself feels more like a boutique residence than your typical Roman accommodation. The suites – and they actually are proper suites, not just rooms with a sitting area thrown in – have this understated elegance that doesn’t try too hard. Think clean lines, muted colors, and enough space to unpack without playing Tetris with your luggage. The kitchenettes are surprisingly well-equipped too, which honestly saved me a fortune since Rome’s restaurant prices can be brutal, especially around the touristy areas. What I really appreciated was how the staff handled check-in – no hovering, no overselling of services, just efficient and genuinely helpful when I needed directions to the lesser-known Etruscan museum nearby.
Here’s the thing about the location that the guidebooks won’t tell you: you’re about a fifteen-minute walk from Villa Borghese, but more importantly, you’re two blocks from the Libia metro station, which puts you anywhere in central Rome within twenty minutes. The real gem, though, is being so close to Via Salaria – not exactly glamorous, but it’s where you’ll find those family-run trattorias where the menu is scribbled on a chalkboard and the house wine comes in unmarked bottles. I stumbled into this tiny place called Da Enzo (well, there are about fifty Da Enzos in Rome, but this one’s special) just around the corner, and honestly, it ruined me for tourist-trap carbonara forever. The neighborhood also has this fantastic morning market on Saturdays – nothing fancy, just locals buying their vegetables and gossiping about football, but it’s real Rome in a way that the Spanish Steps will never be. Sure, the 8.2 rating might seem modest, but sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t need to shout about how great they are.

The property is central and very easy to access remotely. Our host was attentive and helpful at every moment. Bathroom was spacious and we loved the coffee pods!
What could be improved: The bed was a little uncomfortableVery good – Zahra from Italy – 3 May 2025 (8/10)
Clean and good
Superb – Nikola from Serbia – 27 March 2025 (9/10)
everything was ok, great location, spacious apartment, clean. Only problem with wi-fi, 2 days not working
Perfect for people on a budget, but be prepared to walk a lot – Sam from Malta – 5 July 2024 (7/10)
The property is very clean, and spacious. Also has a common area where you can leave luggage in case of an early or late flight. The staff was also very helpful
What could be improved: – location is far away from main attractions.
– No change of toiletriesVery good – Panagiota from Greece – 7 January 2024 (8/10)
Comfortable and clean room. Easy access without key.
What could be improved: A bit far from metro station but close to bus connections.Great location, fresh and clean apartment. Recommend for the price. – Linda from Latvia – 8 November 2023 (8/10)
Very clean place, with a tv in a great location.
What could be improved: Didn’t expect that it will be an apartment with other rooms, so it was a bit loud when other visitors came in. A bit difficult system to get in, if my phone is dead I’m not able to get in to my room.Superb – Muri from Argentina – 12 October 2023 (9/10)
The room was beautiful.
What could be improved: Not being able to cook.Absolutely loved the stay! Would recommend to anyone looking for a great room at a great price – Adam from United Kingdom – 25 September 2023 (9/10)
Staff were really helpful and lovely. The rooms were incredibly clean and had everything you needed including a new tv with all popular apps on. Location was great as there were shops nearby and a bus to the centre only a few minutes walk away.
What could be improved: Somewhere to leave your bags if you have a late flight and don’t want to carry your bags around all day after check out would have been nice. You can leave it in the kitchen but as this can be accessed by the other 2 guests and didn’t have locks on the bags we had to stay with them. Other than that there is nothing I would complain about!Everything was great, excellent location and service for this price – Natalie from Poland – 16 August 2023 (9/10)
Great location for a good price, no breakfast, but there was coffee, tea and cookies
Very good – Toby from United Kingdom – 14 July 2023 (8/10)
We loved the location of this apartment – with a great vibe in the surrounding neighbourhood and excellent connections to central Rome.
What could be improved: The entry system to the apartment was a nuisance.
