The piazza itself has this authentic Roman energy without being touristy, and honestly, I loved sitting at the café downstairs in the morning watching the neighborhood wake up – real Romans heading to work, not just people with cameras around their necks.

The hotel itself feels like someone’s stylish Roman apartment that they decided to share with the world. The 4-star rating is spot-on because it’s got all the modern stuff you actually need (the WiFi works everywhere, the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a helicopter, and the shower pressure is surprisingly good for Rome), but it maintains this intimate, boutique feel that makes you feel like you’re staying somewhere special. What really impressed me was how quiet it gets at night – and trust me, that’s saying something in Trastevere where the nightlife can get pretty lively. The rooms facing the piazza have these gorgeous windows, and while you might hear some chatter from the evening crowd, it’s more charming than disruptive. Actually, the staff seemed to really know their stuff about the neighborhood – they pointed me toward this incredible little osteria on Via dei Genovesi that I never would have found otherwise.

Here’s the thing about staying here: you’re a five-minute walk from Santa Maria in Trastevere (the church, not just the piazza), and you can easily wander across the river to Campo de’ Fiori or the Jewish Quarter without breaking a sweat. But honestly, you might not want to leave Trastevere at all. The morning routine I fell into was grabbing coffee at the corner, then exploring the side streets before the crowds hit – there’s something magical about those early hours when the light hits the ochre buildings just right. Parking can be a bit tricky if you’re driving (I mean, it’s Rome), but the Trastevere train station is walkable if you’re coming from the airport, and the buses from Termini are pretty straightforward. That 9.6 rating isn’t just numbers – it’s the kind of place where small details matter, where you feel like you’re experiencing Rome rather than just visiting it. I’ve stayed in fancier places in Rome, but this one had that perfect balance of comfort and authenticity that made me actually sad to leave.

  One of the best stays I had:
  – really nice room, everything new and clean, equipped with all the necessary. The sound-proof was great, you couldn't hear a noise from outside.
  – great hosts: many thanks for Elisa, Livia, Michaela, they helped us with tips and how to get to the location (it was really easy, we arrived from Ciampino airport) and everything else we asked for.
  – location is great: 20-30 min walk from every important point of interest (Colloseum, Fontana di Trevi, Vatican etc.), and also the Trastevere neighborhood itself is very nice. You have market-shops, pharmacies, coffee-shops, everything you need at 3-5 min walk.
