Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Rome, and honestly, finding something that feels genuinely luxurious without the tourist trap vibe is pretty rare. The 3V Luxury Apartment by Hili gets it right in a way that surprised me – and I mean that in the best possible way.
First thing you notice walking down Vicolo Scanderbeg is how quiet it gets once you turn off the main drag. You’re literally a three-minute walk from the Trevi Fountain (I timed it because, well, you know how these “close to everything” claims usually pan out), but somehow this little side street feels like a different world. The building itself has that authentic Roman character – thick walls that actually keep the noise out, which is huge if you’ve ever tried to sleep near any major tourist site in this city. The apartment space feels properly luxurious without being stuffy about it. The kind of place where you can spread out your stuff without feeling like you’re living in a hotel room, you know?
What really sold me was the attention to details that actually matter when you’re traveling. The kitchen is set up like someone who cooks might actually use it – not just a mini-fridge and a hope. The bathroom has serious water pressure, which honestly feels like a miracle in Rome sometimes. And the bed… well, let’s just say I’ve paid twice as much for places where I spent the night feeling like I was camping on a board. The whole setup feels like staying at a friend’s place, if your friend happened to have impeccable taste and a serious budget for linens.
The location thing is what really makes this work, though. You’re in Trevi, so yeah, you’re going to deal with crowds during the day – that’s just Rome. But being on this particular street means you can duck home between the morning rush and the evening chaos. I actually found myself popping back to grab a coffee and regroup, which isn’t something you can do when you’re staying out in Trastevere or somewhere that requires a whole journey back into the center. Plus, you’re walking distance to everything that matters – the Pantheon, Spanish Steps, all those spots – but you’re also close to some genuinely good neighborhood places that aren’t just feeding tourists. There’s this little alimentari around the corner that saved my life more than once.
The 8.4 rating feels about right to me, maybe even a little conservative. It’s not perfect – the street can get a bit echoey late at night when people are walking back from dinner, and the building entrance is easy to miss if you’re not paying attention. But those are pretty minor complaints for what you’re getting. The value proposition here is solid, especially if you’re the type who wants to feel like you’re actually living in Rome for a few days rather than just passing through it.

The apartment is at a very favorable location just around a corner from Trevi Fountain. It's roomy, well equipped, and the maintenance staff is most helpful and quick if need arises to repair something (the previous guest broke the laundry machine, and we had it repaired next day). If you need to use a notebook computer with an IEC/Schuko (types E/F) power cord, you want to bring a converter from the Italian type L socket. Type C (flat, 2 prongs) works without conversion. The internet is stable and reliable 6/6Mbps and the apartment is fully covered with wifi signal.
It was a great location for everything downtown – Jalen from United States – 13 February 2025 (8/10)
It was a great location, also things were clean.
What could be improved: The stairs aren’t fun with lots of luggage, the Tv didn’t work upstairs. I didn’t like that you had to open the main door with your phone. My phone was on 1 percent one night and it made it stressful knowing that I had to use my phone to get into the apartment.Great location, very spacious, on top floor so need to be able to walk up stairs as no lift – Glenn from Australia – 7 December 2024 (8/10)
Fantastic location
What could be improved: Afew things not working which was disappointing but staff were very quick to respond to try to fix issueSpacious comfortable apartment in a good location with excellent restaurants nearby – Ali from United Kingdom – 22 October 2024 (8/10)
The host was an excellent communicator and she answered every question very quickly. We had no problems getting into the property as the cleaner was still there and he was helpful. The beds were very comfortable and the apartment very spacious. with a lovely feel. The antique furniture and features were very attractive. The restaurant just below the apartment served some of the best food we have eaten in Italy.
What could be improved: The apartment was not quite as glamorous as it looked in the photos. The shower bathroom which is also a laundry in particular is in need of some refurbishment. There was a strange mix of "Ikea" style furniture along with the old pieces in Bedroom 2 which was a shame. but understandable, in a rental aparment. The air conditioning unit in the hall was very noisy and in fact the cleaner mentioned it and said it would be attended to, but this did not happen while we were there. Also, the building opposite the apartment seemed to be a warehouse for fruit and vegetables and started deliveries very early in the morning so, if the windows were open, the noise was disruptive. A very minor detail but there was nothing to wipe down the kitchen surfaces or to dry up with.Wonderful apartment in a great location! Noise was not an issue. – Stephen from United States – 27 September 2024 (9/10)
Location was awesome.
What could be improved: Only (1) shower, a 2nd bath with a hand held faucet. No ice trays.Very good – Gabrielle from United States – 22 September 2024 (8/10)
Great location for first time in Rome (quick walk to trevi fountain) and the home was spacious. Can get loud at night because it is above a restaurant but otherwise was a great spot.
Fantastic! We would happily stay here again for our next trip to Rome – Andreas from Canada – 31 March 2024 (9/10)
Great location! Entry to building and apartment through a simple web page. The apartment is bright with a good sized living room and fantastic wide balcony. Beds in both bedrooms were very comfortable and the kitchen provided all the amenities we needed. Bedding, towels, and apartment were all clean when we arrived.
What could be improved: Apartment entry is (3) floors above the ground floor with fairly narrow stairs which might present a problem for those with a lot of luggage.Lovely apartment steps from the Trevi – Lc from New Zealand – 15 March 2024 (9/10)
The location is excellent. I could not wish for better. Very close to the Trevi, yet quiet. Spacious, and convenient set up. Super comfortable beds! Easy check-in. Really good value for money. We loved the fact that we could easily do laundry.
What could be improved: The shower seals are old and could do with replacement. We knew there would be no lifts, and as long as you are mobile and able to climb stairs, this is no problem. The view is worth the climb.Great location & comfortable apartment for our family of four – John from Australia – 24 June 2025 (8/10)
Perfect location, just around the corner from Trevi fountain and easy walk to so many attractions, restaurants & shopping.
